Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup chicken broth (or water)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

How to Make It

1. Cook the Shrimp
Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until just pink. Remove and set aside.

2. Sauté the Garlic
In the same pan, lower the heat to medium. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

3. Make the Sauce
Pour in the cream and broth. Stir and let simmer for 2–3 minutes. Add the Parmesan and stir until the sauce is smooth.

4. Return the Shrimp
Add the shrimp back into the pan. Let everything simmer for 1–2 more minutes so the flavors combine. Add lemon juice if using.

5. Finish and Serve
Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve warm over pasta, rice, or with toasted bread.
